Description
Buy a forgotten painting at the flea market, prove it's a lost masterpiece, and sell it to a collector who will pay anything. Private Sales is a roguelike adventure through the art market.
You have a five-year deadline, a few thousand dollars, and an eye for a bargain. Start out working the flea markets and estate sales. Research your finds to learn what they really are: a rediscovered Old Master, a dubious copy, or a clever fake. Then decide which of your collectors will buy each one.
- Research, analyze, and conserve 900+ works across eight categories, from Old Masters to photography, each hiding secrets that may raise or sink its value
- Win the trust of 25+ collectors with hidden tastes, budgets, and scruples, from an art-school dropout to the imposing Baroness von Hassel
- Hunt for works across 24 venues, from the humble Local Flea to the invite-only Salon Fidelio
- Consign works to the saleroom or raise your own paddle and fight bidding wars under the auctioneer's hammer
- Chase 12 different goals across business, culture, relationships, and the underworld, drawn fresh each time you play
- Adapt to 50+ events, including heists, scandals, police raids, and art-historical mysteries
- Give to the museum and become a great patron of the arts, or heed the black market's calls and make your fortune at others' expense
- Learn as you play from the generous Rita Fenn, a collector and mentor
- Fill your personal Catalogue with every work, collector, and venue you meet
Private Sales is a one-time purchase. It has no ads and no in-app purchases.
