Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Private Sales account and the data stored with it. Private Sales is made by Onyxfish LLC.

In the game

1. Open Account, from the title screen or the game menu.
2. Choose Delete cloud data and confirm.
3. If you signed in with Google or Apple, sign in with that account again when asked. This confirms it’s you.

Your account and cloud save are deleted right away. The game keeps working with the save on your device, and cloud saves are turned off.

You can also turn off Enable cloud saves on the Account screen and choose Also delete my cloud save and account.

If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account also stops Private Sales using Sign in with Apple, and the game disappears from the Sign in with Apple list in your Apple Account settings.

Without the game

If you can’t open the game, email privacy@onyxfish.dev with the subject “Delete my account”. Tell us one of these, so we can find your account:

• If you signed in with Google or Apple: send the email from the address you signed in with, or tell us that address. If you used Apple’s Hide My Email, give us the relay address.
• If you played as a guest: give us the account ID shown on the Account screen.

We’ll confirm the request with you, then delete your account and cloud save within 30 days.

If you signed in with Apple, we can’t remove Private Sales from Sign in with Apple for you. Do that yourself in your Apple Account settings, under Sign in with Apple, by choosing Private Sales and Stop Using.

Deleting the game from your device doesn’t delete your account. Neither does removing Private Sales from Sign in with Apple in your Apple Account settings.

If you stop playing

At least once a year, we clear out accounts that haven’t been used for more than 3 years. An account counts as used whenever the game is opened with cloud saves on, on any device signed in to it. Clearing out your account deletes it, including any email address and Google or Apple sign-in linked to it, your cloud save and catalogue, and the record of what you agreed to. The save on your device isn’t affected.

What gets deleted

• your account, including the email address and the Google or Apple sign-in linked to it;
• your cloud save;
• your catalogue of the works, collectors and venues you’ve come across;
• the record of what you agreed to: which version of our Terms of Service you accepted and whether you agreed to share usage and crash data;
• if you signed in with Apple and delete your account in the game, the game’s permission to use your Sign in with Apple account.

What we keep, and for how long

• The save on your device. It stays until you delete the game or its data.
• Usage and crash data, if you shared it. It isn’t linked to your account, so deleting your account doesn’t delete it. It expires on its own: usage data after 2 months, crash reports after 90 days.
• Emails you’ve sent us, including your deletion request. At least once a year, we delete emails when more than 3 years have passed since our last exchange with you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
• A record that we deleted your account, if you asked us to by email: the date and your account ID, and nothing else. We keep it for 3 years.

After we delete information, copies can remain in the backups of Google, which stores cloud saves for us, for up to 60 days, until those backups are replaced.
